This exhibit features two-dimensional work created as a result of this trek. The artist is an active member of the Chippewas of Rama Mnjikaning First Nation, and is a professor of foundation studies at Savannah College of Art and Design.

For centuries the graphic traditions of woodcarving and printmaking have used darkness to articulate the split between seen and unseen, reality and myth, waking and dreaming. Fairy tales dramatize and give shape to what is hidden and lives in shadow. Patrick Vincent surveys the interconnection of animal and human in folk tales and fairy tales, and Lauren Kinney uses hidden pictures, symbols, and patterns to weave collected imagery into narrative. Kinney received a BA in printmaking from Humboldt State University. Vincent received a BFA from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
